Bringing together students passionate about The North
WHO WE ARE
The Northern Students’ Association is an interdisciplinary student group at the University of Alberta dedicated to developing, supporting and continuing Northern studies and research. We foster a culturally safe and student-focused community for students who are northern residents, who travel to and from the North for post-secondary education/research, or who are simply interested in the North.
WHAT WE DO
Our mandate is to promote and support connection and camaraderie for students interested in the North and to uplift Northern perspectives in post-secondary education and research. We aspire to facilitate partnerships with communities, Indigenous nations, institutions, and organizations in the North. We further aim to curate resources and opportunities for early career training and skills development.
We live and work in the Traditional Territories of Treaty 6 First Nations and Métis Peoples in Edmonton, Alberta and on the traditional territory of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council in Whitehorse, Yukon
